After a courageous first battle, Peter’s cancer has returned.

My brother-in-law, Peter Barrera, is one of the strongest men I know. Those of you who know him know his spirit and his deep devotion to his faith and family.

We have recently received the devastating news that Peter’s tongue cancer has reoccurred and is now terminal. We are entering "Round 2," and the stakes for his family are higher than ever.

A Family Facing a "Perfect Storm"

For years, Peter has been the rock and the sole provider for my sister, Candice, and their home. Many of you know that Candice is fighting her own brave battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Because of her condition, she is unable to work, and Peter has carried the responsibility of providing for them both with grace and dedication.

Now, as Peter begins intensive chemotherapy and immunotherapy, he is facing the reality of being unable to work himself. The financial uncertainty is an added stress that neither of them should be burdened with while facing these serious medical challenges. My goal is to ensure that Peter and Candice can focus entirely on his treatment and their time together—not on how they will keep their heat on or pay for life-saving medications.

The Plan: Chemo & Immunotherapy

Peter already has a PEG feeding tube due to the pain when swallowing. As he regains his weight and strength, he is also beginning an intensive treatment regimen to manage the disease. These treatments are physically grueling and come with heavy out-of-pocket costs. Your donations will go directly toward:
