This morning, Petey was doing "Zoomies" around the backyard. After a few minutes and suddenly, out of nowhere, he fell over on his side and rolled on to his back, legs in the air and eyes rolled back in his head. He had vomit and foam coming out his mouth. I thought he suffered a stroke. I removed the vomit from his mouth and he started to come around but still threw up a little more. I was massaging his back, talking to him and praying, God please, please let Petey be OK. After a few minutes, I was able to grab my phone and called the vet and she asked that I immediately bring him in. After several hours of evaluating, X-Rays, blood draw and IV, the Vet determined that while he was running around doing his "Zoomies" he threw up and the vomit lodged in his airway causing him to pass out. Some of the vomit was regurgitated and he aspirated on his vomit causing the fluid to go into his lungs. The Vet has recommended Petey stay overnight for further evaluation.
