STREPTOCOCCAL INFECTION IN THE BLOODSTREAM
This condition took more than 48 hours to be diagnosed for our cousins Meg and Jed's 2 month old baby Max. She was brought to a hospital for what was initially thought a high fever from simple allergies. All in just a day, she's stayed in ICU, been through pricks and procedures as her intestines have stopped functioning. An unknown bacteria then gave her a bloated and hardened tummy. Through prayers and her doctors expertise, our super baby Max managed to surpass critical condition, from spiking lactic acid level and heart rate to a more stable vitals. Though it's painful to see her tiny body inserted with nasogastric tube (from nose to stomach) and all the other medical equipment attached to her, we are comforted with the thought that all these are essential to make her better. This heart wrenching scenario faces Meg and Jed daily plus all the uncertainties and fear of having a sick child. While I'm sure that we are all praying for Max's healing and recovery, can we ask that we also help them with their hospital bill. They have been told that hospital stay will be much longer as new bacteria are found in her intestines. It is also necessary to closely monitor how she responds to treatment and to look for any other possible damage these bacteria have caused. Any amount will go a long way and is greatly appreciated. Though it is impossible to ease their pain at the moment, our shared effort will somehow lessen their financial concerns as we all await good news and update on Baby Max. There is nothing we want more than to see her back to her playful giggles and out of the hospital. Her new chance to life will continually serve as a great testimony of God's love, mercy, and grace with the help of your prayers and support. Thank you.
