Porkchop Emergency Surger

Six months ago, I welcomed this beautiful boy, Porkchop, into my life, promising him a safe, loving forever home. When I rescued him, his body was fighting off almost every severe bacterial infection a dog could possibly have. Together, we fought through every single one of those infections. He proved to be an absolute warrior, beating the odds and showing me the true meaning of resilience.

Now, coming right out of a difficult family crisis, we have been hit with a massive medical emergency that requires my 24-hour supervision. Porkchop’s breathing has suddenly taken a severe downturn due to Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS). He desperately needs an elongated soft palate resection and surgery for stenotic nares (widening his pinched nostrils). This is an absolute matter of life and death. I have already had to personally step in and save him about five times from completely suffocating. I monitor him 24 hours a day just to keep him alive, and I have documented pictures and video proof of his severe breathing struggles to show the reality of what he is enduring.

To make matters worse, he is suffering from a severe, painful mouth infection. His gums have overgrown so much that they almost completely cover his teeth, trapping bacteria underneath. He also has several painful, broken teeth that require surgical extraction. He is in constant discomfort just trying to eat. Our veterinarian wants to perform both the airway correction and the dental surgeries during the same anesthesia session to save his life and minimize his time under sedation.

The combined estimate for his airway and dental surgeries ranges between $4,500 and $6,500, which includes: pre-operative bloodwork, chest X-rays, and IV fluids; anesthesia, specialized surgical monitoring, and dental X-rays; soft palate shortening and nostril widening surgery; gingival reduction (cutting down the overgrown gums); surgical extraction of broken teeth and deep pocket antibiotic treatment; and post-operative pain management, antibiotics, and critical care recovery.

I am fully committed to uploading my photos, video proof, medical estimates, invoices, and recovery updates right here on this page so you can see exactly how your generosity is saving his life. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our link with your friends, family, or on social media. Every share brings us one step closer to getting him the pain-free life and the deep breath of fresh air he so desperately deserves. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
