Presley's East Carolina Fund
Presley Bryant, a recent Honors Graduate of Frank W. Cox High School, is planning on attending East Carolina University as a Freshman this Fall. She has her orientation under her belt, and is ready to set sail and become a new pirate within the next few weeks. Her desired degree is a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Forensic Science. She hopes to use this degree to work for the FBI as a Forensic Psychologist. Presley would be the first person in her immediate family to graduate from college.
To say ECU is Presley's dream school would be an understatement; Presley has been working her whole life to attend the school that many of her aunts, uncles, and cousins attended and loved (She is pictured with her cousin JJ Regan, an ECU graduate excited to see her starting school soon). Between making straight A's her Junior and Senior years, working 40 hours a week, taking 3 AP's this past year, and being an active leader in her girl scouts troupe since the first grade, she's had an extremely busy life. She has accomplished so much despite the many economic hardships that have been thrown at her.
Presley is living alone with her dad, who is doing all he can to support her. Together, they have tread through unemployment, not having their own place to stay, sharing a room together, regular relocation, having their power shut off, and ambiguity as to what will happen next for them. As of now, they have found a good living situation, and stable employment, and are working harder than ever to pay for Presley's education.
Still, their financial situation is one where the majority of paying for her college education will be through federal and private loans. As this will most likely put Presley at an enormous disadvantage later in life, we are doing all that we can to raise the money for her to pursue a degree, and be free from the burden of student loans as soon as she can. We are asking anyone who can help to please help! Alumni, family, friends, students, anyone who is inspired by her hard work and ambition, and hopes to see Presley accomplish her dreams! Payments have already started for their family, and funds are needed sooner than later. This is going to be an extremely strenuous next four years, and anything can help lessen that!
