I am trying to raise money for legal costs for my friend (who was forced to flee penniless with her two children, who are 7 and 8, from an abusive husband) to keep custody of the boys and be awarded adequate child support. Her court date is May 6th and she will need to retain counsel at least a week before that to ensure they have time to prepare. She recently had to have a heart defibrillator implanted as well, adding to several pre-existing health difficulties she has had to struggle with throughout her life. He is well-to-do and has cut off access to all funds for her. Getting a competitive attorney in a vicious court battle is very expensive. We are praying and hoping that many kind people reading about her desperate situation will help in any way they can towards helping her be able to pay for legal protection to protect her and the boys so they are safe and secure.
