A few days before the Christmas holiday, my cousins lost their family home of over 40 years and all of their possessions to a house fire. All three suffered smoke inhalation and Ada, after passing out from the smoke and being pulled to safety by Nick, was taken to the hospital. She unfortunately passed due to complications from an infection in the days that followed.

The family had fire insurance, but are uncertain when they will have temporary housing. We also don't know what will be covered medically by that insurance, if anything. This fundraiser is to help them get back on their feet with clothing and other incidentals, and maybe help with any outstanding medical bills. It will be some time before any kind of insurance payout for items lost can happen and they have only have a few donated items right now. Times are tough for everyone but if you can spare even a dollar or two, every little bit helps.
