Prism Counseling and Support LLC, a counseling practice serving the LGBTQ+ community and their loved ones in Killingworth, CT is asking for your help so we can expand our support of the LGBTQ+ community during this extremely difficult time.

We are looking to train our staff in assessment for ADHD and Autism and purchase assessment materials which are quite costly. A significant number of our clients request to be assessed for ADHD and/or Autism, and referring out is difficult for a number of reasons. First and foremost, few places that offer assessments are safe and affirming for trans clients, leading to them being misgendered and therefore, poor outcomes. It is extremely difficult to find anywhere for assessments without a long waitlist as well, often putting treatment on hold until the client can get an appointment.

Donations will cover the cost of training staff members in administration of the ADOS and Vanderbilt Assessments, as well as the purchase of testing kits. Once we reach our goal, any additional funds will cover any refresher training required, additional assessment trainings and/or additional materials (most materials are licensed for one-time use).

Our clients need and deserve to receive efficient, affirming and thorough care and we are in a position to provide this to them through Prism. But we need your help to cover the initial investment. Your donation will be paid forward to those who receive our services, making a difference in the lives of so many in the LGBTQ+ community.
