Hello everyone! This is Pudge. Pudge is an orphan baby beaver who was fortunate enough to have found Tanya, a wildlife rehabber, to help him! He has been with her since 1 week old and has overcome many obstacles already. Recently, the state of Connecticut contacted Tanya to let her know that they have another baby beaver that is the same age as pudge. Beavers do much better when they have other beavers around them and, in such orphan situations, the beavers have to be with a rehabber for years before/if they can be released safely.  

If you are not aware, animal/wildlife rehab is a volunteer position that requires a license, a lot of hard work, time, love and devotion. Housing and feeding 2 beavers, which can both grow to upwards of 60 pounds is going to be quite expensive for Tanya and she could really use some help and support from the community to help provide a fresh supply of food for them.

Beavers primarily  eat the bark, buds, stems, and twigs of trees: aspen, maple, willow, birch, black alder, and black cherry trees. They really like soft plant foods, too: grasses, mushrooms, leaves, ferns and the roots of water plants are some favorite snacks. You donations will go directly to helping provide these things!!
