Radi Fam Survive Gaza War

My name is Nina Christine Gorman, a 67 year old psychotherapist and social science teacher in Philadelphia, PA. USA. I am doing this campaign to help my dear friend Muhammed Radi Zaki Abu Raida  (36 years old)  in Khan Yunis, Gaza Palestine  to survive the brutal war in Gaza along with his five children: their  three daughters, Alainaa (14), Ghaida (9), Alia (7) and their two boys Samir (11) and Iyad (5).

I came to know Mohammed in the summer of 2024 with many conversations in Meta Facebook Messenger from then until now. I was most impressed that he was working hard to distribute food to the poor even though he had little. He would wait in lines to gather food and water for those who could not travel and distribute food baskets to the poor.

Like most in Gaza, his family has endured nightly bombings and a blockade for much of the war which at time of this writing is now total for all food, fuel, water, electricity, medicine and medical supplies, causing starvation and great suffering his family and all. Thousands of aid trucks are stuck and rot at the border for months now because the occupation and their supporters refuse them entry as a means of genocide. The children are terrified crying and shaking at night with 90% of children in Gaza according to psychological surveys now believing that their death is imminent. I cannot control the bombs dropping but I wanted to do what I can to at least help Muhammed and the children survive to get some basic food items of what is still left in the markets (now there are some canned goods, flour and few vegetables at high prices) and some water (though is difficult to find clean water with the children prone to getting sick from this). They must walk long distances to carry heavy water and firewood and wait in lines for it daily. They like most in Gaza are exhausted and living in fear.

Because Gaza has become uninhabitable with 85% of the buildings destroyed, all universities, 90% of schools, all mosques, the water infrastructure, the sewage infrastructure in an attempt to exterminate the population, it has become impossible to manage with outside help and the kindness of others.I urge you to do what you can to help Muhammed and the children survive, to give them the comfort of at least some food, drink, medicine and maintenance of shelter so that we can soothe them in their fear and suffering and so they can survive the cruel genocidal war.

No donation is too small. All donations will be transferred from my secure USA bank account to Muhammed via his secure PayPal.

Here is Muhammed in his own words:

My name is Muhammed Radi Zaki Abu Raida. I am 36 years old from Khan Yunis, Gaza, Palestine. I have grown up here in Gaza which has been under occupation for decades. We have endured many wars and much deprivation with contaminated water and little food and few jobs before this war even for those with university degrees. We have endured massacres for decades in war after war even though we just want peace and some justice with an ability to make a living, for our children to go to school and live without hunger and constant fear of death.  My family always taught me to be kind and do whatever I can to help others which is why before this war and during this war I have always shared what I had and worked hard to find food to distribute to the poor and I did this in my displaced camps during this war also.

Despite always enduring collective punishment especially with a blockade of over 18 years by the occupation there has been nothing like the collective punishment of this war.We have been displaced many times after having our house bombed with all its possessions with our memories and dreams. We move place to place escaping bombing sometimes walking with only the clothes on our backs and what we can carry only to be bombed again in a place they designate as safe. But there is no safe place in Gaza. If that is not enough, they are blocking all the crossings so no food or aid comes in making it very difficult for my own family to survive or share anything with others.

There is nothing more painful that having to see your children cry in fear from bombing and not being able to comfort them by holding and rocking them in the tents that can burn in an instant. There is nothing more painful that to not be able to give them a toy or a carrot or some bread or some fish or chicken or a sweet. We do not have enough clothes or shoes for the weather.  The wood we must cook with burns our eyes. Our tent tears easily in the wind and the rain and we cannot fix it. It is freezing in the winter and it floods in the rain damaging all our things and it is sweltering hot in the summer. The children get sick since the food is meager. The hospitals are mostly destroyed and even the small clinics and pharmacies have little medicine and at high prices. There is no meat or fish and what few vegetables available  are very expensive or in expired cans. I hate asking for money from others since I have always been independent and did what ever I could to support my family. But now I have no other choice if we are to survive due to the total blockade of all food, water, fuel, electricity, and supplies for decent shelter.

I ask you to do what you can to help me and my three daughters and two sons survive so that we do not suffer so much and so that we can have a life that will someday be normal like all people deserve. Do we not have a right to a normal life?  I hope you can help us. We will always be grateful and may God grant you health and happiness always.  Mohammed Radi Zaki Abu Raida
