Rattie's surgery fund.
My dear rat friend, Sir Earlington, has developed a tumor. Sir Earlington (Reno The GoddamnSquirrel's slightly younger "brother" and my last remaining pet ratto) is about three years old, which is quite an impressive age for a pet rat. He outlived his rodent friends, and his girlfriend, Miss MooMoo. He is now a lone "old man", who is - however - still in generally good health, with lots of energy and a great appetite.
Last year, he started developing a slow growing tumor on his side. When the growth started bothering him, we visited a vet - and a few weeks later, in late March, we had it removed. It was an absolute success - after a few hours of drowsiness and a helping of chicken soup Earlinton was back to his own self, hopping around, giving me kisses and making sure his squirrely brother does not get to be the boss :).
However, about 5 weeks ago another growth appeared... :(. It looks and feels different than the last one - and this one, is growing much faster. It does not seem to cause pain, or affect him in any way so far - it is now a size of a cherry. He is still a happy little self, exploring and enjoying his choco chips; but we are worried.
Today we had a pre-op visit, to assess his general health and discuss further treatment. We were able to cover the cost of this visit, and it went great - he hasn't lost any weight and charmed everyone at the Clinic with his sweet personality.
Sadly, we do also have one last outstanding payment for the previous surgery, which we would need to take care of along with the first part of the payment for the oncoming one. And that might take a few months...
We are not sure if we have a few months <3
So if you feel that you'd like to help out rodent family, and that you can, we will all appreciate that very, very much. If we are able to raise some funds, we might be able to get the surgery done before our doctor goes on her vacation - and before the tumor starts posing a risk to his health.
Thank you!!
D., GoddamnSquirrel and Sir Earlinton The Rat :)
