Hi my name is Kim and my family is in dire need of help to keep my family's head above water.

It started on September 15th,2020, when a normal trip to Target turned into 2 years of life-changing events that we were completely blindsided by.

While on a simple trip to Target, I was walking in to the store with my husband, and the next thing I knew is I was on the ground looking up at him. I fell and didn't even know it.

Once in the store, I realized I had cut my knee and could see the bone. We went to the

Emergency Room and I received stitches.

I reached out to my primary doctor, which had me come in and figured out my blood pressure was dropping dramatically , but did not know why. she referred me to a Cardiologist which found that both sides of my carotid arteries were completely blocked. Next step - Surgery.

We asked if this would stop the lightheadedness I was feeling which is why I fell in the first place. The answer was NO. Now it was off to the Neurologist. After MRI of the brain, CT scan still no answer. Every test came out negative ! Good news so we thought. But after falling over and over , my husband bought me a walker. It has helped tremendously, but I even fell using it a couple of times. By this time I looked like I have been through a war. I am scarred from top to bottom, and have muscle atrophy in both arms and legs. This now makes it almost impossible to drive, walk or pick up things. On top of all this happening, my eyes had swelling behind them as well as bleeding. Now off to the eye doctor. While this is happening to me , my Mom is starting to show signs of Dementia after my special needs Brother died suddenly.

 So off to the doctors for Mom. This is all falling onto my husbands hands as he has to drive us from appointment to appointment while not being able to work. Since we don't have family or friends nearby we are left with depending on the Only person in the house that works. Although we think we are on the right track to recovery for me , I get "foot drop". So now I am walking as if I had a major stroke. I now have a foot brace to hopefully stop me from tripping and falling. I am very surprised I haven't broken any bones.

With all that was said we have been struggling with our monthly bills and have fallen behind . Since my husbands job as a handyman makes him drive from job to job , the gas prices have really been a hard hit for us.

We have tried to get government assistance for disability and food. We were denied for both several times in the last 2 years.

We have no where else to turn but to ask for help. If you can find it in your hearts to help us get over this hump, we would be forever grateful.
