Hi, my name is Jermain.

In February, my girlfriend Taylor, my cousin Chris, and I survived a house fire that changed our lives forever. The home we had rented and built memories in for nearly five years was destroyed.

The fire was devastating — emotionally, physically, and financially. Chris, who suffers from severe medical conditions including seizures and is unable to work, was found unconscious in the fire and spent over a week in the ICU. We’re grateful he survived, but the road to recovery has been long.

We lost nearly everything:

• Clothing
• Furniture
• Everyday essentials
• And now, we’re buried in fire-related expenses

We were able to find a new place and replace some basics thanks to insurance and the support of friends — but now we’ve hit a wall.

Our credit cards are maxed out.

Our savings are gone.

And just recently, our car broke down and the repair costs are more than we can afford.

We’re doing everything we can to stay strong and move forward. But right now, we can’t do it alone.
