Rebuilding after Fire
My name is Brian Gill, and I am writing to ask for your help. On May 22, 2023, my house burned down. I was home with my dog at the time. Thankfully, we were both able to escape, after doing the thing you aren't supposed to do and running back into the house. I had to throw my dog out a window that I punched out, receiving burns to my hands and arms. However, I lost everything I owned.
I was renting/watching the house for a landlord who was not living there at the time. The landlord has given me a small amount of money to help with my immediate needs, but it is not enough to cover the cost of rebuilding my life.
I am asking for your help to rebuild my home and replace my belongings. I need money to:
- Pay for temporary housing
- Purchase food and clothing
- Replace my furniture, appliances, and other belongings
- Recover my art on the few hard drives that survived somewhat
I am setting a goal of $15,000. I hate asking for donations. It's awkward, but at this point I have nowhere to turn. I'll take any extra clothing as well. My sizes are 34x32 in pants, XL in tops, I'm a size 9.5-10 in shoes. Any amount that you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
I know that this is a lot to ask, but I am truly in need of help. I am a hard-working, caring person, and I am determined to rebuild my life. With your help, I know that I can do this.
Thank you for your consideration.
