Rebuilding Rhonda’s Life
Help Me Secure Safe Housing and Rebuild My Life
My name is Rhonda, and asking for help is one of the hardest things I've ever done.
For the past several years, I have devoted much of my life to caring for a 94-year-old elderly man in hospice care. What began as helping during a difficult time gradually became a daily responsibility involving meal preparation, medication management, supervision, transportation coordination, household management, overnight monitoring, and countless other tasks necessary to keep him safe and comfortable.
Like many caregivers, I quietly carried these responsibilities without compensation while trying to maintain employment, support my household, and meet my own basic needs. Over time, the demands became overwhelming, limiting my ability to build financial security and plan for my own future.
At the same time, I have endured significant personal hardships, including the devastating loss of my twin sister to violence. That tragedy forever changed my life, and the years since have been filled with grief, caregiving responsibilities, financial strain, and the challenge of simply trying to keep moving forward.
Today, I am facing a critical turning point.
After years of putting the needs of others before my own, I am working toward securing safe, stable housing and rebuilding my independence. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I do not currently have the financial resources necessary to make that transition on my own.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used for:
- Security deposit: $1,500
- First month's rent: $1,500
- Utility deposits and setup fees: $300
- Moving expenses and transportation: $500
- Emergency housing and basic living expenses during the transition: $1,200
Fundraising Goal: $5,000
This fundraiser is not about luxury or convenience. It is about having a safe place to live, the ability to start over, and the opportunity to build a stable future after years of caregiving, sacrifice, and hardship.
Every donation, regardless of size, will help me move closer to securing housing and regaining independence. If you are unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser with others would be an incredible gift as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness, support, and encouragement mean more than words can express. They provide hope during a time when I am working hard to create a better and more stable future.
