Hello, 

My name is Darius Johnson of Lumberton, NC and I am starting this campaign on behalf of my family.

On November 11th at approximately 3:00am, my mother was awakened by a loud popping sound. She got up to check the noise and as she opened the bedroom door she was faced with flames coming from the attic. She thought quickly and retrieved my younger sister, Kiara, and little cousin, Cody, from the other room.

As Kiara called my dad (who also hit a deer that night as he rushed to the house), my mom, with the help of our neighbors, made the attempt to salvage what they could. Kiara then called me screaming that our house was gone. Our childhood home for almost 17 years was now engulfed in flames.

We lost a house, but more importantly we lost the place where my parents spent their days "Raising you two[Kiara and Myself]." 

Unfortunately, we did not have house insurance due to other recent economic hardships. Despite having experienced this tragedy, we have faith that we will be able to rebuild our lives.  

This is why this campaign was started. To help us rebuild a home that will foster new memories to come. Regardless of the amount you are able to contribute, we are greatly appreciative of the efforts. If you are unable to personally donate, we hope you will share our story.
