Recumbent Trike
Help Get Me Back on a Bike
An accident was the end of my last bike career. That was 9 years ago, and I still don’t have my balance back. Now, I am looking at recumbent trikes. But they are more expensive than regular bikes (lower volume, more parts, etc.). Please help me on my journey.
If you want more details, here they are. Most recumbent trikes won’t fit in our Kia small SUV. That means we transport the trike via a towing-hitch carrier, or I get a folding trike that fits, or I get a shorter trike, or I ride to the bike trail. Riding to the trail might mean fighting it out with cars. That’s what landed me here in the in the first place.
Recumbent trikes cost about $2K to start and run up to $10K or more. A motor with a battery adds another $1-2K. The more you give, the better I can get and the quicker and more I can ride.
Any contribution, large or small, would help and be appreciated.
