Hey all! As you all know I was relocating to the Everett area for a new job! I secured an apartment prior to arriving on this side of the state but when I arrived my unit was not ready for me to move in yet so I booked an extended stay hotel for a few days in lieu of it being ready. Once I arrived on the Saturday prior to beginning work I called the apartments to ask if I could tour the neighboring unit with an identical floor plan since I reserved it sight unseen and was going solely off of the floor plan and photos provided online. Upon entering the unit I saw A COCKROACH on the countertop!!! This is clearly a good enough reason to not move into these apartments! They are now refusing to return my $500 hold that was then going to be applied to my initial deposit. Cockroaches violate RCW 59.18.060 warranty of habitability (thanks Kyle). I am contacting the Housing Authority and have forwarded my discretion to the Regional Manager and the Property Managment company main headquarters. I applied for a new apartment in a more desirable and cleaner environment and had to pay another holding fee to go towards a deposit. I am seeking help recouping some costs so I can move forward into a safe and clean housing unit! I may never get my $500 back, thank you all and if you can't donate at this time if you could share I would appreciate it! I am currently still residing in a hotel which is costing me more money while I look for an apartment as well, thank you for any assistance and/or shares.
