Rescue Vagabond John

When time moves too fast and life hits so hard it becomes too overwhelming for one person to adjust to. 12 years ago I moved to Whidbey Island to leave the hustle of the modern world and live a simple life. I've found peace in solitude for 8 years at my current location. However that was before the lock downs when work here on the Island was more abundant and I was a younger stronger man. I've been able to sustain myself as a property manager, remodels, repairs, maintenance, etc. Now due to many injuries and "age" my body can not perform on the level I need to sustain myself via my past 40+ year career. Employment on the island is scarce and wages are very low. On top of that, the landlord that I've been property keeper for is losing her memory which is causing too much friction. She refuses to make repairs to my living quarters which is becoming unlivable. First the rats, then the black mold, the toilet is falling off and she is ignoring all bids to repair anything. Her Kids are preparing to eventually take her and sell the property.  So I may be loosing 8 years of rental history as well. Plus the fact there is nothing to do here and no one to talk to. Being alone, depression and suicidal thoughts are creeping back into my head and it's starting to haunt me all over again. I just went through this 5-6 years ago and I can not do it again, This time I'm too alone, afraid and it's all too overwhelming. I must make immediate adjustments within 10 days by May 5th to find an apartment back on the mainland (Seattle area) and to seek employment. If not, I am making plans to live in my car which needs front brakes ($500-$800). I was squeezed out of my last job because i did not use "they/them pronouns" so my last 5 years of employment history is down the drain. My living expenses such as food, utilities, phone, WIFI, etc will basically remain the same when I move to the mainland. However the cost of rent will increase by about $800-$1000 per month. This is perfectly manageable on my part once I move and find a job. The problem is that I can not get a job unless I live near the Zip code area and I do not qualify for an apartment because I do not have a job in the area. Also, since I got out of debt 18 years ago my credit score is literally zero (0). In order to acquire an apartment I will need a very significant downpayment of approximately $5000-$6000 and basic living expenses Food, gas, phone, insurance, etc. Due to unforeseen circumstances and stupid decisions of my own I have $2000 to my name. I am reaching out to my community to please help me make the transition to an area which has more employment opportunity and to save me from aloneness and despair. I've never asked for help before in my life I have a survivor instinct and have been young and healthy enough to work. But now at 60 I can not perform in such a physical career any longer. I must try to find a new form of income and adjust to a new way of living all over again. I'm confident all will work out but I need help. Please help rescue Vagabond John from the Island. Watch my 20 min. video where I share with you more details, plans and goals. I'm not giving up hope.

Thank you and God Bless you,

John, Vagabond John.
