My name is Adrienne Hauck and I am one of the founders of "Kaleidoscope."  Kaleidoscope  is a small group of LGBTQ+ members, allies and pastors in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  We created this group to begin bridging the gap between the Church and LGBTQ+ members.

I grew up in OKC in a conservative church and often felt alienated and dismissed by the local church.  All of this because I am gay.  For many, people believe one can't be Christian and gay.  I, for one, left the church for many years because of this treatment.  It was not until I heard from the Holy Spirit that I was loved by him that I began attending church once again.  I have been convicted of many things, but being gay was not one of them.  

When it comes to LBGTQ inclusion in the Church, I believe we have reached the point in theological evolution where biblical arguments for full inclusion are plentiful, accessible, and compelling.  Also, what I believe many more people are beginning to understand that there is more to following Christ than simply putting down our weapons of hate. 

First and foremost, my hope is that our organization can continue to provide a safe place for those on the margins at the same time sharing the Good News with them. 

We are raising money to help us with funds to continue to provide resources (medical, counseling, youth services, Reading materials, etc.) for this community.  It is my hope that we raise $2,000.  This money will be used to purchase Reading materials like: Torn by Justin Lee, Walking the Bridgeless Canyon by Kathy Baldock, and many other resources available to help educate others on this important issues.

The one thing I do know is that  the Jesus I've come to know, is the Christ who insists on hospitality rather than judgment, affirmation rather than shame, and above all, joy-filled love.
