Richard's Taxi Fundraiser
This is my friend Richard who lives in Jamaica. He used to be my pen pal, but then he was deported, and he has been trying to start a life in a new country after a long hiatus that left him having to adjust to decades of new technology and change. Richard has been unable to find work, due to the stigma of being a deportee, as well as the poor job market in Jamaica being made even worse by the pandemic that is still raging there. He needs to get a reliable source of income as soon as possible because his diabetes requires him to see a doctor regularly and buy insulin, or his health will deteriorate. He wants to drive a taxi because this will give him the freedom to find work wherever he is. He has saved up most of the money for a "Probox" that is the standard taxi there, and just needs one final push to get to his goal. This is your chance to be a part of his journey to self-sufficiency. Please give what you are able to give, and share this fundraiser as widely as possible. Thank you!
