On March 17th, 2020, we were informed that our brother, Rick Walston, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, called Pilocytic Astrocytoma, which is unable to be removed. Since then, he has had 5 brain surgeries, has been through proton radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and target therapies, none of which has been effective.
We are now going to try an alternative treatment. Unfortunately, this treatment is extremely expensive and not fully covered by insurance, since it is still in its experimental stages. Anything that can be donated to help Rick afford this potentially life saving medical treatment, which has helped many other people, would be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small.
Any unused funds will be donated to the University of Maryland Oncology Program to help find a cure for brain cancer. #Rickstrong
