Rising From the Ashes
Rising Out of the Ashes one more time. I'am I the fight of a lifetime, and I need some help to help me win! I'am trying to learn how to live life like your dieing. I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer for the 2nd time on March 5, 2023. I was given 3 weeks to live. It's now October 18, 2024 and I'am still living.
I have been through this fight once back in 2004 and beat it after a 5 year battle. I endured a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and over 15 surgeries due to infections. On March 5, 2024 I was diagnosed with the following: bilateral tumors on both ovaries, diffuse metastatic disease to abdomen, adnexal mass disease that had seeded, diffuse peritoneal carcinomatosis, omental caking, extensive serosal disease involoving small and large bowel, metastatic capsular implant at some of liver, 5 lesions on my spine, cachexia, fluid on both lungs with 1 collapsed, fluid in my abdomen, nodule on 1 lung, and too many tumors within my abdomen to count, and I weighed in at 68lbs.
After a biopsy I was told that I had stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer, which caused all of the above and I had only weeks to live. I left my job as a live-in caretaker for a 92 year old couple and their 63 year old disabled son and returned home to my children and extended family. I went back to my original oncologist located at the University Memorial Cancer Center in Worcester Massachusetts and began my fight.
I was started on a Therapy treatment of Letrozole and Ibranche and started to pray. I received cat scans and lab work every few weeks and things started to turn around. The tumors started to shrink and I started to gain some weight. I had to have my abdomen drained and both my lungs drained.
I returned to my caretaker job part time after an 8 week leave in order to regain my housing and financial freedom that I had worked at achieving. I left that job and went on disability only after a few months due to not feeling strong enough to continue to my full abilities. I moved home to be closer to my children and extendeded family.
I'am now 102 lbs but I'am still stage 4 and terminal but I won.]'t be dieing today. They can't tell me when this disease will kill me and they say I will never be in remission. So basically I'am trying to learn how to live life while your dieing, and it is the hardest thing that I have ever had to do.
I'am asking for some financial help to help me some how regain some of my independence back because it so hard to fight for your life while worrying about where your going to live and how you are going to survive with no job. My disability is not enough to live on not even close. I have been a very successful independent woman but obviously never planned on cancer wiping out my entire life. No one plans on cancer at least I did'nt my retirement plan was to work until was 90 then retire. My plan did not work out that way.
Four weeks ago I decided to pack it all in, I sold whatever I had left bought a plane ticket, a backopack, and my best friend and flew of to Myrtle Beach. But just like my retirement plan things haven't gone my way here in South Caroliner. All I'am praying for is for God to somehow show me just how do you live life as if you were dieing when you are actually dieing.
I want to live, I'am terrified to died, and I'm not ready to give up this fight just yet. So please, any help would be so very much appreciated, and could really help me to rise from the ashes one more time! My son once said to me, not so long ago, "Mom your like the Pheonix Rising, but like a cat has 9 life's , you have risien at least 9 times !." and that was the best compliment that I have ever received, and I just want to make him proud of me and see me rise just 1 more time.
