Robert Harrison needs help 💔
Hello all, as most of you may know Bob was diagnosed with cirrosis of the liver not long ago -- completely shocking to his family. It was from a biliary obstruction that blocked the bile ducts. The bile ducts carry bile from the liver and gallbladder through the pancreas to the small intestine. They were doing a gallbladder removal, and found this.
A biliary obstruction may be caused by a number of factors involving the bile ducts, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and the small intestine.
The majority of the cases of biliary obstruction are a result of gallstones, which he may have had for years and just never known.
This blockage remained untreated for a long time, because he didn't know, which lead to life-threatening cirrhosis of the liver.
Bob has not been able to work for almost 6 months, and was actually diagnosed with Pneumonia today... when it rains it pours, right! 😢
Times have been very hard on him and he is in jeopardy of losing his home and car currently. He has medical bills and the cost of getting to these appointments (6 hours away). He is a proud person and wasn't wild about asking his old school buddies for help, but the time has come that he either ask -- or go homeless, carless and unable to pay for trips to the liver transplant hospital in St. Louis. If you are in any position to help him, and his family, it would be much appreciated. We understand that unfortunately many people are not able to help, and that is OK, we hope you are able to find some guidance too.
Were just tapped out of rescources and he has not been approved for disability, and may not be. That is another long struggling road he will travel. We're at least hoping to be able to pay off his car and put some money into the mortgage so his home isn't foreclosed on. It would help if he doesn't have that to worry about.
