Please if you cannot give, share! We are asking for help for a dear friend who has cared for others for years and now needs your help. Rod Gibbs was a committed nurse at a nursing home in Erwin TN for years and now he and his wife Qalissa is in need of our help. Brother Rod has something no one can diagnose, he has been in JC medical center now for over 40 days in which they have done every test that they can. Around the 1st of this year Rod started having troubles concentrating on his work and even got worried about his ability to drive, after finally giving up and going to the emergency room within a short time he started to loose hearing in his left ear and then his right one, now he is completely deaf in his left one and can occasionally hear from the right one with the assistance of a hearing aid. The symptoms are pretty much in just his head, major headaches and ringing he is also confused at times and has had facial nerve palsy on the right side of his face. He has had numerous doctors from infectious diseases to neurosurgeons and still nothing has came back as positive. After weeks of scans, blood tests and hopes they finally had to do what was their final shot at a diagnosis which was to do a biopsy of the inner part of the brain to hopefully come up with answers. Know all the test have came back even from the Mayo Clinic and nothing is positive. The next step is to send him seven and a half hours away to a higher care facility in Cleveland Ohio, they have gotten a donation for the squad ride there but that is it. The worst part about this is he changed jobs to be closer to home just prior to this hitting him, and his insurance had not kicked in yet. Anything will help and there is no limit on what Rod and Qalissa will need in the future. We are lifting them up in our prayers everyday and I know the good lord will and does answer prayers and this is one of mine, to have everyone I know and even don’t know to lend a helping hand and donate what you can for this family. I know we cannot make him better but we can hopefully take some of the burden off of him and his wife, may God bless you all and please pray for this family.
