Celebrating Roo's Miraculous Recovery and Needing Support with Vet Debt

I had the pure delight of spending Christmas with my daughter Morgaine and my daughter-in-law Lindsay this year. Part of that joy was spending time with my grandkitties, Roo and Trout. Both cats spent so much time on my lap and seemed perfectly healthy. So it was a heartbreaking surprise when, just days later, Morgaine called to let me know that Roo had gone into acute kidney failure and needed immediate, life-saving care.

They made the only choice they could and authorized emergency treatment, which totaled nearly $14,000. Although it was touch and go at first, Roo is improving and will be coming home!

Morgaine and Lindsay are a young couple working hard just to make ends meet, and this unexpected debt is overwhelming. This fundraiser is not about deciding Roo’s care — that decision has already been made — but about helping them recover financially after doing everything they could to save him. Because one of Roo’s kidneys has sustained damage, he will also need more frequent monitoring and ongoing care moving forward.
