Rose's Fight for Life Fund
This fund is dedicated to help support Rose Gonzalez, many of whom know her as Rose Davila. In the 68 years, soon to be 69, she has lived on this Earth, Rose has endured many losses. She has not only lost her husband of 28 years, but she has watched her three younger brothers pass away, all three of whom she has watched suffer and die from cancer. In January of 2017, she was given the devastating news that, she herself, has liver cancer. In watching her younger brothers suffer and pass away from this disease, it has increased her knowledge of this illness which only makes her diagnoses even more terrifying because she has witnessed, three times, the suffering and battle she must now endure herself.
This only leaves her with one haunting question, “Does this mean my life is over?”. Though Rose is frightened, she never shows it. Anyone who knows my mother knows she is a strong, kindhearted, and giving woman. Through all of this, she continues to help and care for others. Including, retiring from her job of 25 years at Northside Hospital to take full time care of her soon to be 90 year old bedridden mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer's. Rose is determined to conquer this disease, not only for herself, but for her brothers who have lost the battle, and her living children and grandchildren.
All she wants is to live on to see her children and grandchildren prosper in life and to be there in the milestones of their lives. However, my mother is a person who will never ask for help, but go out of her way to help others without asking for anything in return. So I, her daughter, come to you on her behalf to ask you for your help and support in her fight to stay alive. The money donated will be used for, and go towards: liver transplant surgery, lifelong medication she must take after surgery, medical expenses, and day to day bills such as transportation to hospital visits, doctor appointments, etc.
She has a long road ahead of her, please let us come together and help her fight this war.
