Two of my dearest friends, Aiya and Rowe, are in crisis. They’ve been unexpectedly given 60 days before they lose their home, and with no stable income and both battling serious chronic illnesses, the reality of homelessness is terrifyingly close.

Aiya is mostly bedridden and lives with severe health issues that make even basic things—like temperature changes or bright lights—dangerous. Rowe, their loving spouse and caregiver, is also disabled but does everything possible to care for Aiya. They are kind, resilient people who’ve already had to fight through so much, and it breaks my heart to see them facing this.

Right now, the most urgent need is enough support to secure safe housing. This includes covering:

First month’s rent

Last month’s rent

Security deposit

Basic costs to settle into a safe, stable place of their own

This isn’t about “just an apartment.” For Aiya and Rowe, a home would mean safety, dignity, and a foundation to rebuild their lives without the constant fear of being displaced.
