"So I run every step with a purpose" - 1 Corinthians 9:26

Hi, I’m Maidy from Carmel, Indiana. My husband and I have been married for nearly 20 years, and we are blessed with two boys.

On November 1, I will join thousands of runners in the New York City Marathon. But for me, this is about more than crossing the finish line. I am running because God has called me to live out His purpose. I believe my love for running can be a vessel for His work, and I am simply saying “yes” to His call. I am honored to run with Team World Vision, bringing life-changing hope to vulnerable children through child sponsorship.

Born and raised in Indonesia, I saw firsthand that poverty is a daily reality for many families. Moving to the United States opened doors I never could have imagined, but I cannot ignore the contrast between these two worlds. I want to use the opportunities I have been given to help open doors for children who are still waiting for their chance to thrive.

Child sponsorship provides access to clean water, nutritious food, education, healthcare, and protection from exploitation—and, most importantly, helps a child know they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

My Goal: 15 children sponsored

Through this group fundraiser, I hope to sponsor three children.

Several friends and family members have kindly asked for a way to make a one-time gift, so I created this page to make that simple and secure. Sponsoring one child for a full year is currently $468 ($39 per month). Beginning October 6, the annual amount will be $516 ($43 per month). If this fundraiser reaches $468 before October 6, I will sponsor one child right away at the current annual amount. After October 6, each additional child sponsorship will require $516 for a full year.

Every time gifts reach the annual amount, I will sponsor one child through World Vision in my name for one year and share an update with everyone who contributed. Any remaining funds that do not reach the amount needed for an additional child will be used to extend a child’s sponsorship, and I will personally continue that sponsorship afterward. I will also cover all processing fees, so every gift goes toward supporting a child.

As I train for this marathon, I do not want to run a single step without purpose. My prayer is that 15 children will know they are supported and deeply loved by God. Thank you for helping me make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
