Hello, My name is Holley and I desperately need your help. It is very hard for me to ask for help, but I have to swallow my pride and do it. Otherwise, I wont be able to find a safe place for my family to live. We have lived in the same mobile home for 8 years and until recently there has never been an issue. This house is old and has had a lot of repairs that have needed to be done from day one. These have never been fixed despite multiple requests. Leaking roof, plumbing issues, broken windows, rotted out porch, flooding damage from hot water heater, no flooring in back bedroom hallway or second bedroom closet, etc. Why did I stay all this time you ask. Well because when I first moved in I was a recently divorced single mother of 4 just trying to make it. Four years later I met my new husband and we were going to improve our lives. Two Months after he proposed I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. But I beat it! However all the medical expenses and the 5 surgeries that I had in a 3 year time period left us unable to save and only barely make ends meet. The house was never safe for us to live in but we managed. However, now we are being harassed and bullied by the landlord,her son and his girlfriend. We live in a rural area down dirt roads. On Wednesday December 13, 2017 the son ran over my 4 month old puppy who was playing in the yard at the end of the drive. Thankfully our puppy will live, but both of his lungs were collapsed and he required extensive treatment. I was told to file a police report as the son refused to help pay for any of the vet bills or even apologize for what he had done. I did this first thing Saturday December 23rd. This was also not the first time he had tried to hit my dogs and even speeds down the road past my children walking home from school covering them in dust and dirt from the road. Then on Tuesday December 19th the landlord sent me a text and said she was coming to do a walk through of the house, something she has never done before. I told her I was not available she became upset and said she would come the next day at 6pm. At 5:30 she and the sons girlfriend showed up taking pictures outside never saying anything. I greeted them kindly allowed the landlord to enter and tried to talk to her to work things out. I gave he yet another list of repairs that needed to be made and upon failing to come to any agreement she left stating she would contact me later. Two hours later she and her son show up with a letter stating I am being evicted, When asked why he stated "we don't need a reason! We want you out!" We have never been late with payments or caused any type of problems. I am asking for help now to pay off the vet bill, for utility and deposits on a new place to live as well as first months rent and moving expenses. While yes we both work very hard, I still have regular Doctors appointments and very expensive monthly medications. I also have one child with a kidney disorder and another with asthma. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows a lawyer who can help us until we find a place to live that would be wonderful. If there are any realtors out there who can help us see if we can get into our own home somehow that would be amazing. However, all I want is to be in a clean safe place for my children, granddaughter and fur babies.
