Safe Space for Jess

Imagine having to leave your entire life behind in a single, terrifying split second. No time to pack a bag. No time to grab mementos. Walking away with nothing but the clothes on your back and the shoes on your feet.

That is the exact reality right now for my dear friend, Jess.

If you know Jess, you know she is the kind of person who radiates warmth. She is the friend who remembers everyone’s birthday, the one who listens without judgment, and the type of soul who would genuinely give you her last dollar if she thought it would make your day easier. She has spent her life pouring love into everyone around her.

But recently, Jess had to face the hardest, most terrifying moment of her life. She had to escape a severe situation of domestic abuse.

I am writing this with tears in my eyes, but also with immense gratitude: Jess made it out safely. She is alive. But to save her own life, she had to leave absolutely everything else behind.

The Crisis She is Facing Right Now

While Jess is physically safe from her abuser, she is now facing a secondary crisis. We immediately sent her to stay with family to keep her hidden and protected, but their home physically does not have the space for her to stay long-term. We tried reaching out to local domestic violence shelters, but every single shelter is completely full.

Jess is in limbo. She has survived the trauma of escaping, but she currently has no place to call home, no bed of her own, no furniture, and no extra clothes. The financial reality of having to secure an apartment and buy a whole new life from scratch is completely overwhelming. She stepped out into freedom, but she stepped out with absolutely nothing, and the system that is supposed to catch her is maxed out.

Why Your Help Changes Everything

Jess has always been the protector, the giver, and the rock for so many of us. She never asks for help—which is exactly why I am asking for her. She deserves to feel safe, secure, and supported as she processes this trauma.

We need to raise funds immediately so Jess can bypass the full shelter system and secure her own safe, confidential apartment. Every dollar raised will go directly to her to cover:

Immediate Secure Housing: First month’s rent, a security deposit, and emergency temporary lodging while she signs a lease.

The Basics of Home: A bed to sleep on, blankets, clothes, toiletries, and groceries.

Peace of Mind: Giving her the financial breathing room to focus on counseling and healing without the crushing anxiety of where she will sleep next week.

Please Stand with Jess

It takes unimaginable courage to leave. Now, it takes a village to help someone rebuild when the safety nets are failing.

If Jess has ever brought a smile to your face, or if her story touches your heart, please consider donating. No amount is too small—even $5 buys her a warm meal or basic toiletries. If you cannot donate, please share this page. Let’s show Jess that she is not alone, that she is deeply loved, and that we will be the safety net she so desperately needs right now.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
