Moving on in life, at 53
I was moving Aug. 14. I'll spare you on why that fell through. New date: Oct. 15.
And this fundraiser is intended to ease the way.
The move has two goals: emotional ease, and career-building. If I live elsewhere during a divorce-in-process, the emotional closure and peace is a gift for all four in my 31-year home: the Ex, the two adult kids, and me.
I plan to live near my workplace: full time glorious healing work. My work culture fits like a glove. And my training during the internship I completed there was solid.
Kids are raised and both pointed in good directions, and I spent their youthful years as the first face they saw when the bus arrived home. Worth every minute. Beautiful kind-hearted husband in a warm, loving and exciting 25-year bond (we've been together since 1993): that was also worth every minute, even the painful ones.
I fought to save this: It is what it is.
A new road is ahead.
My plan is to stay ready for both kids to live with me if they choose (both are studenting right now - one actively, one about to kick off her student-life).
My later/long-term dream is to have a place where they always feel comfortable moving in or staying, for any reason at all. I am hoping all four of us land on our feet after the dust settles.
If you choose to donate, I thank you. For those of you who offered words of kindness and other supportive information: I also thank you. If you have endured a divorce already in your own life? I am sorry you had to go through that. It's a mess no matter how you do it, and now when people express bravado or arrogance when talking about divorce, I find it deeply sickening and amazingly unsettling. Because I think divorce is just sad. Sad only. Nothing else.
