Save home and husband

Please hear me out before being mean, sending hateful comments, and so on. I didn't know what else to do and have tried state help, community help, churches, all this kind of stuff and there are so many rules/regulations/procedures and what not plus part of our situation society looks down on it and a lot of people say you do the crime you do the time so that's why I'm asking for you all to hear me out and also be open minded and kind. I am a Christian woman and live by doing the right thing, being honest, respectful, responsible. I also always look for the good in people and situations. We all have had bad things happen and usually the worst things happen to really good people.

So my husband is in Jail and there is a $5,000 fine now I know I can go to a bonds company and only have to come up with $500. While we have done that already(I'll get to all details in a sec) but I'm trying to see if we come up with the $5,000 that maybe the whole situation can be gone but I also put in account for a lawyer because public defenders (NO OFFENSE to anyone on here who might be one) most of the time they really hurt your case and don't fight for you especially when you have a record and been in trouble a lot. The one my husband has is not good at all and I think is the reason he finally got picked up from the bonds company.

So here is how everything came about so my husband and I were homeless for the last 5-6 years because things just happened and that was the kind of life we were dealt with. So things were looking up until my husband who has had a bad seizure on a construction job site and even though they have never said this or will/would admitt to this he was labeled "that guy" and was a liability safety risk which I understand to a point but he couldn't get any work or job in the only thing he knew so he was offered a high amount of money to do something for these people that we were selling a bike to turns out that money was not good well if my husband went somewhere that was professional but not so judgemental and understanding and their employees weren't so over dramatic he wouldn't be in jail. So he had no knowledge that he had a case well he had at interaction with the police and he found out he was wanted so he went to jail and after doing a lot of phone calls and pleading and begging I found a bonds company that work with us because technically you need a job or a co-signer which I didn't have a job and couldn't get a co-signer. I did find one and after getting $500 together he was out we start the case everything is good and when I was first dealing with the bonds company I promised and swore that he would do everything he needed to and was not going to skip out on them. He of course misses his second court hearing because the non profit housing voucher company that was helping him get all the way up to Greeley completely ghosted him and when he finally got a hold of the person that was taking him didn't take accountability that she forgot and said oh I thought you found another way there

There are no busses and we have NO ONE that would drive from Denver to Greeley and since we also forgot mind you my husband also suffers from a brain injury so his memory is not very good and unfortunately mine isn't either so we heavily rely on these case workers but sometimes because that's what they signed up for to help people especially people that have disabilities and other issues. Well we didn't know the name of the bonds company the public defender hadn't even contacted him the whole reason why there was a second court date was because she hadn't even looked at his case or anything and was no where ready to discuss with the judge and asked for a continuance. Even after missing the hearing she still hadn't reached out to him. After dealing with being sick and getting out of his depression funk he started to take care of things he reached out to the public defender and he thought she maybe able to convince to judge to drop the failure to appear but of course she did almost bare minimum but because she told days to get back to him the judge had already filled more orders and couldn't drop the failure to appear.

He has a lifetime housing voucher and we have been working really hard and doing things by the book to not lose it and now because once again we fell through the cracks of the system he is paying for it( when I say that it is towards the housing company forgetting about him

and just passing the blame he of course is taking responsibility in regards to the court case). We will lose this place because he is the only one on it and that will put me alone with all our stuff the original housing voucher company just so happened to go under out of business and we got transferred to a different nonprofit so I'm not sure their rules and time line is but I technically don't have a job I'm a sub contractor and pick up gigs but not sure who will work with that and if they will even be willing to put up another bond.

He is honestly a good man; yes he has not made great, smart choices but he is working really hard to get things together. Another reason he got charged is because he is a big guy(lots of muscles likes to work out not a lot of fat) has tattoos and can be intimidating but is very sweet kind caring man. Who just needs to catch a break he is almost 50 and has finally realized that he is too old for doing stupid stuff and getting in trouble with the law and is really trying to take the lifetime housing voucher serious and trying to take advantage of it in a good way. I'm sorry that's a lot I'm horrible at explaining things and I'm just scared because I have never been in a situation like this and never been homeless before and DO NOT want to go back to that horrible way of life. Please if you can help in ANY WAY even if it's a small amount it all adds up. Please be kind homeless people, people in trouble with the law and in jail/prison, and low income people are human just like everyone else and have feelings as well. I appreciate you all hearing me out (praying to the Lord you are) and we appreciate everything you all will do even if it's just a good message now hopefully that's not all we get but we fully understand that times are tough and everything is so expensive so you all are really watching what you do with your money. Love and prayers to everyone that reads this Megan and Joe
