Save Momma/Baby from Slaughter
We were alerted to a mare/foal pair that needs help. They have been brought directly to the killbuyer due to the family not having enough feed. We were able to network them (they aren't mustangs) and Central Oregon Equine Rescue has agreed they can take them in, wean the baby, halterbreak him, castrate him, vet them, and find them homes. But, we need funds to be able to do it. A few homes have shown interest but they just want the mare (she is nicely broke to ride) not the baby. They want to force wean and sell baby ASAP. If we can rescue this pair, he will be weaned once appropriate and not immediately after the stress of the killpen.
Mama needs groceries. She need to be preg checked to make sure she is not bred back.
Central Oregon Equine Rescue has quarantine space. The haul will be covered by us.
We need $1200 to bail and vet! ($850 bail/$350 initial vet cost).
