I am a female disabled Veteran with other medical conditions. Over the past few years, they have become worse. Finding a job has been more difficult than I expected. Also, I have been labeled as “overqualified”.

Not being able to work for the past two years has put me behind on paying my property taxes, none of which was by choice. I now have a lien against my home because of it. This is a time-sensitive problem I need to remedy or I will lose my home. It is also something that I am not in a financial position to do.

In 2021, I used Hometap to access the equity of my home. That was during the height of COVID and banks stopped offering their HELOC program. Today, with the lien, Hometap informed me that I have 30 days to resolve it or they will collect on their investment and I will lose my house.
