In Tijeras, New Mexico, my wife and I have nurtured a small dream into a micro sheep and chicken farm. It started with two bottle-fed lambs and has grown to include five sheep and 33 chickens, with five little chicks hatched by us. Yet, life has thrown us unexpected challenges. Both of us face medical issues that limit our ability to work conventional jobs, relying on delivering groceries for minimal pay to make ends meet.

Recently, our situation has become more dire. Our bank account plunged into the negative just as we received unexpected emergency vet bills. After ten years in our current home, we now also face a sudden move. Asking for help isn’t in our nature (we’re both Gen X, after all), but the weight of these challenges pushes us to reach out for support. We are striving to raise $5,000 to navigate these immediate hurdles and keep our farm alive.
