Saving Saphira
January 19th we adopted our second puppy from our wonderful breeder at Michigan Spartan Pugs. We knew she was teeny tiny because she was the runt of the litter. All was well until that Monday morning when Saphira jumped off the couch following my son. Our vet isn't walk in and so I called our breeder, Rachael and told her everything down to how Saphira was acting. We agreed to meet at the closest 24 hr clinic, got her on oxygen because she was gasping for air. Agreed for a12 hr over night stay to see if there was improvement. The tech Called Rachael said all was well and Rachael picked her up and took her to her house to monitor her upon our request. That same night Saphira had to be rushed to MSU in lansing because she was gasping for air again. As on right now, and to my knowledge, 11:05 Fri January 26th Saphira has been off oxygen for at least 9 hrs now which is the longest so far. Unfortunately she will already need a surgery to correct her under development within her chest. The fall off the couch opened an issue we were unaware of that was developing and we were able to catch it. Rachael knowing we can't afford the vet bill wonderfully paid for all of it and still is. We had to give Saphira back to Rachael to make sure she has the best care possible Lord willing she makes it. She has been so wonderful to us, we would like to ask anyone who is willing to donate to give back to her and possibly any future surgeries Saphira may need. Little Saphira is very much loved and out of the 3 days we had her we learned alot about this little nugget. She loves Howard (the other dog we bought from Rachael) those guys were becoming great buddies and cuddled. She was sassy and loved to nibble on toes! She herself was the sweetest little snuggle bug. We are heart broken to give her up but if it means she lives then that's all I need. Thank you.
