Schrodi Avoid Amputation
Our baby Schrodi is in desperate need for surgery to repair his ankle. I had been out of town. My husband stayed home to look after our pets. When he arrived home yesterday, he found Schrodi hanging by his left leg from a pet gate in our house. Evidently, Schrodi got his foot caught in the top part of the gate and had been hanging from it for a while. In his attempt to free himself, Schrodi has shattered his ankle bones. He's twisted the ankle 360° at least twice that the vet can tell.
We got Schrodi as a foster in 2020. He was just a baby and had a broken leg. Our family fell in love with him as we nursed him back to health. We ended up adopting him, and he has been a central part of out family dynamic since!
So far, his treatment has cost over $400. That's for xrays, medicine, and splinting the leg. We will meet with veterinary on Sunday for him to assess whether surgery is possible. We know that it will be at least $1500. That price will probably go up once they can see all the damage.
If you are able to donate, we would appreciate any contribution. If you cannot afford to donate, you can still help by sharing this request! Please help Schrodi get his ankle repaired!
