It's a surprise for Scott Weinzetl...

Hi, Friends and Family!!

First of all, we need to thank you all for your unending prayers and support for Dad (Scott) and our entire family! It has been amazing to feel the love that you have all poured out for us since the second Dad's diagnosis became public.

And now, as if you haven't done enough, we are asking for some help!

As you may know if you're keeping up with the Caring Bridge or Facebook reports, Dad will be starting chemo again on Monday to shrink existing spots on his tongue and lymph nodes that have increased cancerous growth, as well as some new cancerous spots found on his liver. According to his doctor, his projected lifespan is now shortened from 5-10 years to 1-2 years. He is experiencing increasing back pain, but is in good spirits despite everything.

What you may not know is that one of Dad's dreams in life has been to go on an AFRICAN SAFARI (it's literally his only bucket list item).

We want to try to send them. Mom and Dad have given so much to us over the years, and we want to give them the experience that they never had because they were too busy taking care of us and providing for our needs.

That said, we can't afford at this point to send them by our own buck and frankly, they may not have the years needed to save up enough money, or if we do have the years, Dad may not have the strength to go.

The time is NOW!! So we're going to do all we can to make this happen!

We are reaching out to you because we know you love Dad and Mom and we are asking you to consider joining us on PROJECT SCOTT!

We have a steep goal of $20,000 which will cover absolutely everything they could need from flights to hotel to actual safari with a private guide that can be flexible to Dad's needs. The bulk of the cost will be the flights, as we need to send them Business Class. Dad needs to be able to lie flat and have enough space to stretch out, and Economy just cannot provide the level of comfort he needs for such a long trip.

If we exceed our monetary goal, or the total cost of the trip is less than the amount fundraised, we want to use any excess funds to send Mom and Dad for a 3-day trip to Mackinac Island. Mom's bucket list item is a romantic weekend at the Grand Hotel (the setting for her favorite movie, Somewhere In Time), and we've always wanted to send them. Unfortunately, now that they're running out of time together, it's especially important to us to gift them this special getaway.

Any additional funds we raise will go directly to Mom and Dad to help with their finances, especially needed in the event that Dad is unable to find work again.

If just 200 people each donate $100, we reach our goal.
If 100 people each donate $200, we reach our goal.
This is totally achievable! Whatever anyone can give helps. Doing this together will make it all possible and show Dad just how loved he is.

We know that not everyone can donate (believe me... we understand!), but we appreciate everyone's continued prayers for the efforts and if there's anyone you think we should reach out to please let us know. Again, this is a SURPRISE so please keep it off of social media!

Please let us know if you have any questions at all! Our goal is to have this funded as soon as possible so we can book flights and accommodations for late November, giving Dad time to complete his next rounds of chemo.

Thank you again so so much for the love and support for our family, but especially for Mom and Dad!

Many blessings,

The Weinzetl Children - Sarah, Emily, Matthew & Adam (and spouses/children)
