Send Imaginators to Globals!

Welcome to The Imaginators'
Destination Imagination (DI) Global Finals 2017 fundraising page!
Thanks for stopping by!

A little about us - we are a group of smart, motivated 7th graders who have worked extremely hard and accomplished our goal of earning a trip to the DI Global Finals 2017 (http://www.GlobalFinals.org).  Our team represents three schools in North Texas and will also be representing our great state of Texas among over 8,000 students from all over the United States and 15+ other countries!  The Imaginators includes Adam Howard, Grant Katz, Isobella LaBarge, Meghan Parada, and Sutton Rockman. Coached by Anne Howard, we've worked together for five years in DI tournaments, making it to the State level four times before, and to Globals in 2015.

So...what is DI?  The mission of Destination Imagination is to develop opportunities that inspire the global community of learners to utilize diverse approaches in applying 21st century skills and creativity.
The Destination Imagination program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts and service learning. Participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process.
In summary, it's teaching us invaluable life lessons that will serve us well throughout our lives. And we're having a great time!

What are we doing, exactly? This year we chose to tackle the Technical challenge, Show & Tech.  We are being judged on the following criteria:
-> Present a show that includes an opening act and a headlining act.
-> Design and build a stage on which the acts will take place and that will move a team member from one location to another.
-> Enhance each act with a technical effect to amaze the audience.
-> Create and present two Team Choice Elements that show off the team's interest, skills, areas of strength, and talents.

Let's cut to the chase.  We need your help to get the team to Globals. It's a tremedous opportunity that we can't pass up.  Registration fees are $750 per person and don't include transportation for us or our stage and props.  We've earned our spot in the competition, and we can't wait to experience it.

Our team will travel to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville May 24, and stay on campus in dorms. We will participate not only in the competition, but also will experience organized programs and events, meet kids from around the world, and create memories for a lifetime.  Your donation will be forever appreciated, and put to great use!
