Kaydren is amazing, smart, powerful, talented, artistic, and beautiful. She has been nominated, by a teacher which was a surprise, to join the Jr. National Young Leaders Conference. She is to choose a once in a lifetime opportunity of 3 choices to gain skills and confidence of becoming a great leader. I want her to use these skills to achieve her personal goals and to be a better advocate of black rights, her rights, in a white dominant area! Our goal is to enroll in the Atlanta program.

The number of challenges I've had so far keeping Kaydren safe is not even close to what I assumed when she was a baby. The racial bullying, the threat of harm, and constant use of the N word is impacting Kaydren greatly and my voice isn't loud enough. Teaching Kaydren how to work through this hate is difficult, I can't imagine her pain as a black woman in a white man's world! I'm not alone but our support is small. For us to have an opportunity for an outside source to help teach her these skills is life changing! Also, this will be great on a college application.

At JrNYLC, students have the unique opportunity to visit historic sites across three important locations—Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Boston—each offering rich insights into American history and the legacy of great leaders.

1. Washington, D.C.: Heart of American Government

Students explore Mount Vernon, the U.S. Capitol, iconic monuments, the National Museum of American History, and the White House to learn  about the foundations of U.S. leadership and government.

***2. Atlanta: Civil Rights

Students visit the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Atlanta History Center, and MLK National Historical Park to better understand human rights and the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement.

3. Boston: Birthplace of American Independence

In Boston, students visit Plimoth Patuxet Museums, Salem, and the Freedom Trail to experience early American history, justice, and the key sites of the American Revolution.

This trip is NOT free. It's not cheap either. The funds cover her room and board on the college campus, food, transportation, admission fees, and curriculum-based stuff. Separate costs include plane tickets, travel from and to the airport, and any fun/spending money.

My goal is to raise enough money to cover the full cost. As a single mom with no additional income, I can't afford this - not even the monthly installment price.
