Send Mahina to Broadway 🎭
The baby of the Bell ʻOhana has been blessed with an opportunity to travel to New York and attend the 2019 Broadway Student Summit this summer! This will include attending a workshop with the broadway cast of “Hamilton”, in addition to attending the show. The actors will be there to share their manaʻo and educate these chosen students in the realm of performing arts.
Mahina is a selfless, diligent, smart, and talented teenager; and has definitely earned this phenomenal opportunity! She has enjoyed participating in Kamehameha School's plays, including the recent Hairspray production. This opportunity will help solidify her love for theater, while broadening her horizons beyond her academic strengths.
In closing, we are here to humbly ask for your support to help Mahina attend this summit. As mentioned, we are blessed that Kamehameha Schools is covering 75% of the cost for these 5 students to attend the workshop and Hamilton production (MAHALO PAUAHI 🌹). However, the individual ʻohana are responsible to fundraise $1500 per child. Mahina has launched small scale fundraisers including selling her sister's art pieces and selling musubi (a classic grassroots fundraiser if I may say so myself), but has not yet reached her goal.
