Send Misty to a Medicine Forum
One of my amazing 9th grade students, Misty Terrero-Gonzalez was recently accepted to go to the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine! Unfortunately, the program's tuition is fairly expensive (over $3400) and her family can only pay up to $2000 for her to go. There is a small scholarship she is going to apply to, but the scholarship only covers 33% of the total tuition amount (and that's if she is given the scholarship). The tuition also does not include expenses for travel to and from the conference or food so her family will need to cover that as well. For Misty to actually be able to go to the forum, she will have to be able to pay all these expenses. If she cannot get the money in time, her spot to go to the forum will be given up. ):
Misty is a fantastic student and is excited by the opportunity. I'd hate to hear that she wasn't able to go because of a lack of funds. Let's get Misty to the University of California to go to the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine!!
