2 months ago I lost my best friend. My former service dog, Ace passed away due to a quick moving cancer. Within 3 months of him being diagnosed he turned for the worst and there was no amount of medical treatment that could save him. I was left heartbroken and my mental health decided to crash along with it.

It I was a volunteer EMT for 16 years and a volunteer firefighter for three. I am diagnosed with severe PTSD along with bipolar 1 disorder and schizophrenia. I relied so heavily on Ace to snap me out of the horrors of my mind and give me peace to be able to go to work and to be able to do basic chores such as going to the store. Without him I barely sleep at night. Without him it has become increasingly difficult to go out due to a number of triggers that he used to snap me out of. Medication helps but it took losing him to realize how much I relied on him.

I am currently on three different wait lists for new service dogs that can take months to years to be approved. My psychiatrist and my therapist recommended a training company that will help me raise a puppy to be my new service dog. This company so far has reached out to me and has given me a list of breeders that they recommend but due to me spending so much money on making sure that Ace was okay and then ultimately having to spend the rest of it to put my best friend to sleep, I do not have the funds to adopt a new puppy and to get it trained.

This is where I'm asking for help. I want my life back and the only way I could do this is with a new service dog. I'm genuinely hoping that I can achieve this funding with your help. When it comes to food, medical expenses and everything else I have the funding (I do have other animals in my household and that's never been an issue) but the initial adoption fee along with the training fees is what I need help with.

I currently I'm on medical leave from my job but I do currently work part-time and I am also beginning to do doordash and things like that (once I get medical clearance from my surgeon) this way I can see how much I can make on my own, but it's not going to be a lot.
