Shanna's Stroke Recovery

On the evening of August 24th, 2020 Shanna Tyndall suffered a massive stroke at her home. She was found unresponsive by her young daughter Emilie and was rushed to the ER. The following weeks have been filled with many ups and downs, but her family remains hopeful. The stroke has left her with limited use of her left dominate side and the threat of blood clots continue to complicate her recovery.

Those close to Shanna know how hard she was working through so many challenges over the past few years to provide a stable life for her daughter. She also was laid-off at the beginning of the pandemic. Her sudden and life-changing medical crisis has come completely as a surprise, especially given her age. Having youth on her side will aid in her recovery, but she will need to re-learn how to do many things.

She has already come a long way! She has already regained the ability to feed herself and is working hard at physical therapy in the hospital. Her memory is still spotty, and she is easily confused. Her trouble with remembering names is very tough on those her love her, but her witty personality is showing through as her speech and conversation improves.

Shanna is currently in an in-patient rehabilitation center in hopes of regaining some use of her left arm and leg. She has is facing additional medical complications while her parents navigate the myriad of complicated health insurance and legal matters to secure her finances for the long road ahead.

Shanna needs your financial help to afford the high level of care, specialized equipment, and the home modifications she will require for months to come. Her parents have shouldered so much mental and financial cost, and need all the support we can give them. Shanna is fortunate to have a nation-wide network of friends and family who have already done so much to show their love to her and the healthcare professionals taking care of her.

Please join them in helping guarantee Shanna can recover as fast as possible and return to being the mom her daughter needs!
