A hard working dad of 2 handsome sons and a beautiful daughter! My 12 year old daughter has x linked heterotopia and has caused her to have seizures! She was diagnosed with sudep 2 months ago. She has been pushed away her entire life from doctors. They would not do any testing just started prescribing her medication! She was experiencing a seizure every 13-30 seconds on 3 different medications. I went against every single person in her life her doctors her mother grandmother the list continues and I took all medication away! Since I have been on multiple trips 700 miles one way to take her to the mayo clinic in Rochester MN! I’ve had to miss work skip all my bills to make sure my daughter could finally get some answers. 2 weeks ago she received a vns and we went to Mayo for the surgery! Last Wednesday another trip to have it turned on. Long story short I’ve been fired from jobs divorced and work has been downsizing and have been laid off into part time hours since Christmas! I would not change a single part of our journey other than wishing for more hours along with the amazing benefits I get at work instead I’ve just received the insurance and very little money due to layoffs! I’ve tried some gaming charity’s around North Dakota and have been denied one of them denied her to help a couple open a new restaurant in the town instead of helping her get to surgeries and appointments! No one has offered me any type of financial help other than a occasional pay my utilities to not let the kids be without! I’m so far behind and owe everybody bills family members and my accounts are all in the negatives! It has really hurt to know that there are multiple times in the 10 years I’ve been in North Dakota where bars and local communities come together have silent auction’s and raise thousands of dollars to help people who are in similar situations as I am. I’m not from this state originally and I have been reminded that multiple times. I’m not sure if it’s myself why we can’t get some support from people here or if they just don’t look at us as locals. I do know my little girl is from Bismarck ND she was born there and raised in garrison nd! I don’t ask for anything from anyone if I don’t have it I do whatever I can to get it! All my bills are being disconnected and with multiple trips to Mayo the last 3 months I have not been able to pay my rent! I’m about to lose everything I have trying to get my little girl the help she has for some reason never been given! Was always just told it’s her disability and not much at all can be done. I went to work for UPS hearing the insurance they offer! I’m embarrassed to claim that as since becoming full time they decided to downsize the workforce and are working on getting rid of 30,000 more people by the end of this year. Unfortunately I don’t stay because I make six figures like most of the guys here! You have to build years for the pay and pay means absolutely nothing when you are the second to last guy on the list and they run of seniority! I’ve battled for 3 and a half years to give my daughter a chance at really good insurance! It’s done levels of good for her being they covered 135,000 dollars in medical bills just last year! But it doesn’t pay the lost wages or unpaid bills! The gas food or motels I’ve had to stay in! I put the amount I did because that would pay for the maintenance on my car for future appointments and would catch up every thing I’m behind on right now and would leave enough to help me buy my sons some new shoes and clothes that I have not been able to afford! I’m not expecting anyone to care enough to help me out. It’s my last chance to save my trailer and not lose my car!
