Sib to Ohio Farm
One of our Wisconsin farmers (Nia) is moving to Ohio temporarily to support another farm and we could use your help. There are currently no funds to support our sib traveling nor managing every day essentials without the support of community members like you!
Please consider sharing or donating towards this fund. Every bit counts and funds will be used to maintain not only their home in Wisconsin, but also to get them to & from Ohio with food and toiletries.
While in Ohio, Nia will help current farmers of SUNDAY Creek Sanctuary as they handle adminstrative needs pertaining to their 6 acre land. It is vital that we get Nia to Ohio, as they will help the sustainability of Sunday Creek Sanctuary and be able to take a mental break from the grieving year they've had in the city.
On A More Personal Note......
Nia has buried 6 people this year and had been managing to keep their mental health together while they worked for their essential needs. In October, Nia was let go from a job that was not sympathetic to their funeral trips or their grieving process. Nia had only been working there 6 months and being let go was not expected.
Nia lives by themselves with 2 cats and was feeding multiple familes (including themselves) with the food they recieved at work. Being let go hurt their food budget and their community support. Now, Nia is just focusing on themselves.
Update:
I have had a couple unexpected financial setbacks since I had to leave my cats in Milwaukee. I am hoping to leave my catsitter with a bit more money to transport - to and from my house for the remainder of my trip.
I have so far learned a lot about the unexpected joys and woes of being a animal farmer and I am excited to spend the rest of my time focused on being here completely.
