Silver Linings Short Film
Silver Linings is a comedic short film made by members of the 55+ Performers Group of ACTRA Manitoba and is a truly collaborative project. With six writers working together to create a script, six directors working on individual scenes, and a cast of 14 actors, 12 over 55, this 12-minute short film is a true testament to community spirit and inclusion of older actors in film. The result was a funny and heartwarming story that deserves to be seen by as many as possible!
Funds raised will go towards marketing the film, festival submission fees, and some additional post-production work that the group would like to do (re-edits and additional sound mixing).
Story Summary: Happy-go-lucky Leo, an elder gentleman, goes on a search for his lost phone. On the way, he encounters an eclectic assortment of characters who reflect the perspectives of those in their "golden years". Silver Linings is a humorous and insightful take on the realities of growing older, and the situations we find ourselves in.
Thanks to ACTRA Manitoba for funding the development and production of the short thus far, through their Member Initiated Production Grant Program.
