Hello everyone. As hard as this is I must ask for a little help. I got brave and filed for divorce six months ago from a 22 year toxic relationship. I am a mother if two sons. I learned about a year and a half years ago that I have an autoimmune disease called hashimotos. I had a difficult operation to remove half of my thyroid gland. And, now, the other half is swelling and my doctor is concerned that I may need a second operation.

My driver's license has long expired. So, I haven't been able to get a job. Hoping to get that taken care of next week.

My pro bono lawyer dropped my case. So, I'm going through this difficult divorce without a lawyer and I am scared to death!

I let another wrong person into my life recently who took advantage and even stole from my family.  

Neither my parents nor extended family offer to help in any way and I don't want to be seen as a burden. I must say, however, that my mother did pay for some of my car repairs last month. When my grandparents passed away, so did my safety net. 

Whenever I could, I have extended help to those in need. Loaned money never to be paid back.

I just need a leg up on the bills and, if I have enough, a lawyer for the final hearing. 

I only get a $182 a month in food stamp benefits for myself and two teenage boys. Not nearly enough! And, I receive child support but never know when or if I will get it. It is put on plastic so I never see cash. My checking account is in the negatives and spiraling downwards.
