Hi all my name is Nickkia I am 39 and a widow and Mom to three. My children and I moved about 2 months ago from Indiana to kentucky. I had saved up and kept all my taxes to be able to move. I think it was going to be this hard to get established. I as tightly as I could have only got Essentials paid the bills and whatever the kids had to have like clothes. I have been putting applications in since before we moved here who know it would be this hard to get a job. Where we're from I could have 15 in one day if I wanted to and they would all be 17 plus an hour. Here you're lucky for making 14 an hour and you better have a spotless background or you're not getting hired even at most restaurants. I was getting very overwhelmed and not knowing what I was going to do after paying everything this month I have negative $40 in the bank I I've never had to get on here and post anything and ask for help it's been very long time since I've struggled. Thanks a lot I received an email last week from a general manager of a restaurant wanting to know if I wanted to come in and be a manager. Of course I said yes I interviewed with her just this past Friday and I started Saturday today was my second day. My only issue is I don't get paid for three Fridays it is a biweekly place. I do not have enough gas to get to him from work for those 3 weeks no other grocery still has that long. I'm already scraping meals together that I could find and I personally am trying not to eat or anything at all unless I have absolutely have to to make sure I have four them. Honestly didn't know websites like this existed I just happened to come across it looking for help in other places. I have called the church's left messages sent messenger messages have not gotten response I got one $10 gas card out of all that. I called 211 there Bright Idea in the area that I'm in is to call churches even though I told him I was already doing that nobody helps with gas. I put ads on neighbor app and Facebook send people if they need anything done that come help them in a heartbeat I don't care if it was scrubbing their toilet I haven't come help them. I'm so grateful I found a place like this a grateful that there are people in the world that well actually help people. I honestly need the money to get groceries laundry soap gas and from work and the only other pill I have this month to pay is the phone bill which is due next week it is $129 for a phone internet and my oldest child's phone. He is 15 so he watches his brother and sister I'm at work especially this week with him being on spring break I don't know what to do I'm going to run out of food by in the morning and not be able to feed them for the rest of the week it is so embarrassing and it's like a knife stabbing in my back twisting it I've always been the person to help everybody not the person needing the help it's hard not to be embarrassed about that's for sure.
